Chromone (or1,4-benzopyrone) is a derivative ofbenzopyran with a substitutedketo group on thepyran ring. It is an isomer ofcoumarin.
Derivatives of chromone are collectively known aschromones. Most, though not all, chromones are alsophenylpropanoids.
