Christopher Lowell (bornRichard Lowell Madden; November 6, 1955) is aninterior decorator and former television personality. He is best known for hosting the television showsInterior Motives andThe Christopher Lowell Show. He won aDaytime Emmy Award in 2000 for his work on the latter program.[1]
Beyond his hosting duties, Lowell has also appeared onHollywood Squares[2] and been a member of the California Boys' Choir[citation needed]. He has designed products forOffice Depot andBurlington Coat Factory.[3] In 2008, Lowell hosted a series onFine Living channel calledWork That Room.
Lowell has also written several books.[4]
Lowell left the television business in the late 2000s.[5][1]
Originally fromPortsmouth, New Hampshire, Lowell lived inBoston for part of the 1970s, working variously as an actor, art director, pianist and waiter.[6]
Lowell isgay. On his blog, he calls himself "one of the very first gay men ever to host a daily national television show" although this claim has not been verified.[7]
