Christopher Hugh Naunton is a BritishEgyptologist, a writer and a broadcaster, and an expert on the life ofFlinders Petrie.
He studied Egyptology at the universities of Birmingham and Swansea, and obtained hisPhD.[1] He has been director of theEgypt Exploration Society[2] and president of theInternational Association of Egyptologists.[3] In 2013, he presentedTutankhamun: The mystery of the Burnt Mummy onChannel 4 in the UK.[4]
Chris Naunton has been involved in a program for teaching Egyptology and thehistory of ancient Egypt namedPlaying in the Past, aT.tv series, based on the reconstructions of the video game "Assassin's Creed Origins", which he considers as "the best visualization of ancient Egypt".[5][6]
Chris Naunton was involved with the 2017 excavation ofthe Pyramid of King's Daughter Hatshepsut atDahshur.[7]
He currently hosts the podcast 'Talk Like an Egyptian', alongside Iszi Lawrence.
