Christopher C. Holmes is a Britishstatistician. He has held the position of Professor of Biostatistics in Genomics in the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine and the Department of Statistics at theUniversity of Oxford since September 2014, a post that carries with it aFellowship ofSt Anne's College, Oxford.[1] Previously he was titular Professor ofBiostatistics and a Fellow ofLincoln College. After working in industry he completed hisdoctorate inBayesian statistics atImperial College, London, supervised byAdrian Smith.[2]
Holmes's research interests are inspatial statistics, Bayesiannon-parametrics and statistical problems ingenetics. He is one of the co-founders of theOxford-Man Institute. Holmes was awarded the 2003 Research Prize[3] and the 2009Guy Medal in Bronze[4] by theRoyal Statistical Society.
