Chloe Chambers (born June 14, 2004) is an Americanracing driver. She is currently competing inF1 Academy withCampos Racing representingRed Bull, previously withHaas.
Chambers first tried karting at age seven. A year later, she started racing at Oakland Valley Race Park in New York, winning the Kid Kart Championship in her first year. She pursued karting at the club and regional level mainly in the North East US and Canada in Rotax Micro, Mini and Junior Max categories. In 2018 and 2019, she competed select National level events in X30 and KA100 Junior categories. She did finish third in the 2019 SKUSA SuperNationals XXIII in the X30 category.[2]
In 2021, Chambers competed in a partial season of the Formula 4 United States Championship racing for Future Star Racing.[3] She only scored one point throughout the season, being a tenth place inMid-Ohio,[4] as she finished the season in 26th place.[5]
From 31 January 2022 to 4 February 2022, Chambers competed in a W Series test inArizona, United States along with 14 other prospective drivers.[6] She then participated in a second pre-season test inBarcelona on 2–4 March along with 11 other potential drivers and 9 automatic qualifiers from the previous W Series season.[7] On 22 March 2022, Chambers was confirmed to compete in the 2022 W Series season racing for Jenner Racing alongsideJamie Chadwick.[8][9] In the first race of theMiami double-header Chambers finished in seventh place, and was the best-placed rookie across the line. However, she was demoted to 14th after receiving a penalty for being out of position at the safety car line.[10] In thesecond race, Chambers claimed her first (and ultimately only) W Series points finishing in 10th place and being the highest-placed rookie.[11] Chambers spun out of fourteenth place into the gravel on the final lap of the third race inBarcelona,[12] before finishing thirteenth atSilverstone.[13] The American was then taken out of the race atPaul Ricard byEmely de Heus,[14] before finishing the season with a pair of eleventh-place finishes inBudapest andSingapore.[15][16] Chambers finished 16th in the standings with only the one point earned from Miami.[17]
In 2023, Chambers competed in theFormula Regional Oceania Championship with Giles Motorsport.[18] Chambers scored consistently throughout the first four rounds, taking a best finish of ninth four times. In the final round inTaupo, Chambers secured pole position for the second race and led the race throughout, becoming the first woman to both hold pole position and win in series history.[19] Chambers placed ninth in the standings with 176 points, and was named the Most Improved Driver.
In 2023, Chambers competed in thePorsche Sprint Challenge North America driving the Cayman GT4 Club Sport.[20] A month later, she was named as a member Porsche Deluxe Female Driver Development Program, therefore becoming a Porsche Junior.[21] Unable to race in the first round atSebring, her first race was at rounds 3 and 4 atBarber Motorsports Park, where she qualified on pole and won both races.[22] Chambers also won another race at theVirginia International Raceway.[23] Over the partial season, she won eight races and stood on the podium nine times from her 12 race starts, allowing her to finish sixth in the overall standings.[24]
In 2024 she joined the series as a guest driver for round 2 at theBarber Motorsports Park, where she once again claimed pole position and victory for both races.[25]
Chambers was confirmed for the2024 season ofF1 Academy, racing forCampos Racing and was supported byHaas.[26] She won her first podium finish of the season by finishing in third in Race 1 of Round 2 atMiami.[27] Chambers finished fourth in her first race inJeddah, inheriting two places on the last lap from a collision betweenNerea Martí andLola Lovinfosse.[28] The next day, Chambers tagged Lovinfosse into a spin, earning her a penalty which dropped her from sixth to tenth.[29] InMiami, Chambers took her maiden podium in the first race, having made her way pastHamda Al Qubaisi on lap 11 to take third place.[30] She backed her performance with fourth place the next day.[31] Personal best qualifying performances inBarcelona lined her up on the front row for both races.[32] She secured a third-place podium during the first race, having lost out a place at the start to teammate Martí.[33] The next race, Chambers overtook won her first race of the series in Race 2 of Round 3 atBarcelona, overtaking pole-sitterAbbi Pulling at the start and leading throughout the race, finishing over six seconds ahead of Pulling while also winning the fastest lap.[34][35]
Chambers experienced her first non-scoring race of the year inZandvoort, where a difficult second race saw her down in 12th, while she finished sixth the previous day.[36] She then experienced a solid weekend inSingapore with fifth and eighth place;[37] in the latter race, she had dropped two places to 11th but was able to recover three places.[38] At theAbu Dhabi finale, Chambers made the front row for all three races; despite shooting pastAbbi Pulling for an early lead during the first race, but a costly spin in the opening relegated her to the back.[39] Chambers again led the opening lap of Race 2, but she ran wide and lost her first place back to Pulling on lap 7. Nevertheless, she still wrapped up her first rostrum since Spain.[40] However, Chambers collided withDoriane Pin on the opening lap and dropped to the back with wing damage, dashing any hopes of a top result.[41] Despite this, Chambers placed sixth in the drivers' standings with 122 points, scoring one win and four podiums.
On October 2, 2024, it was announced that Chambers would be returning in2025 withCampos Racing but will move to theRed Bull Academy Program and will be supported byRed BullFord.[42]
In preparation for her2025 F1 Academy season, Chambers contested in theFormula Winter Series withCampos Racing.[43]
On September 17, 2022, Chloe Chambers took part in a one-dayFIA Formula 3 test, completing 50 laps at theCircuit de Nevers Magny-Cours in France.[44]
She took part in a second test on July 12–13, 2024 at theSilverstone Circuit. Chambers drove 97 laps in a hybrid 2019 F3 car that had been modified to handle like the 2025 car.[45]
Chambers made her firstFormula E outing at the November 2024 women's test withAndretti inJarama.[46][47]
Chambers was born in China but was adopted by Americans Matthew and Shannon Chambers fromMonroe, New York at 11 months. Her siblings are also adopted. Her younger sister Emma is also from China and her younger brother Oliver is from Ethiopia.[48] She is an ambassador for the non-profit Gift of Adoption Fund.[49]
Chambers holds theGuinness World Record for the Fastest Vehicle Slalom. She set the record on August 21, 2020, racing a 2020 Porsche 718 Spyder and navigating 50 cones in 47.45 seconds.[50]
Chambers is signed with A14 Management, Formula One World ChampionFernando Alonso's management company.[51]
