Chishui (Chinese:赤水;pinyin:Chìshǔi) is acounty-level city ofGuizhou Province, China, borderingSichuan to the north and west. It is under the administration of theprefecture-level city ofZunyi.
The city has a total area of 1,801 km2, and in 2020, it had a population of 247,287.[1]
Chishui is famous for its bamboo forestry, the city has around 87,000 hectares (340 sq mi) of bamboo forest coverage. The bamboo is used for paper production andbamboo weaving among others.[2][3][4]
In 1935 theBattle of Chishui River took place in the city.
Chishui is divided into 3subdistricts, 11towns and 3townships:[5]
