Chinese horror include films fromChina,Hong Kong, andTaiwan that are part of the stream of Asianhorror films. Like Korean and Japanese horror as well as other Asian horror films, many focus on ghosts (yurei is also very common), supernatural environments, and suffering. Perhaps one of the best films for C-horror isThe Eye directed by thePang brothers[1] which was laterremade.[2]
There is also some comedy elements such asBio Zombie,Troublesome Night film series,The Vampire Who Admires Me, andMy Left Eye Sees Ghosts.
Jiangshi fiction, revolving around thehopping vampire or zombie, is a subgenre of Chinese horror.[3] A staple genre ofHong Kong cinema, jiangshi films blend horror with elements of comedy.
