Canadian philosopher
Cheryl J. Misak FRSC (born 1961) is a Canadian philosopher who works inpragmatism , the history ofanalytic philosophy , andbioethics .[ 1] She is a University Professor at theUniversity of Toronto , aFellow of the Royal Society of Canada ,[ 2] and a recipient of aGuggenheim Fellowship in intellectual and cultural history.[ 3] In 2011, Misak served as provost of the University of Toronto, president of theCharles S. Peirce Society .[ 4] In December 2020, Misak became the interim director of theMunk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto.[ 5]
Misak was raised inLethbridge , Alberta.[ 6] She received her BA from theUniversity of Lethbridge , her MA fromColumbia University , and her DPhil from theUniversity of Oxford .[ 2]
