Cheryl Misak

Canadian philosopher

Cheryl J. MisakFRSC (born 1961) is a Canadian philosopher who works inpragmatism, the history ofanalytic philosophy, andbioethics.[1] She is a University Professor at theUniversity of Toronto, aFellow of the Royal Society of Canada,[2] and a recipient of aGuggenheim Fellowship in intellectual and cultural history.[3] In 2011, Misak served as provost of the University of Toronto, president of theCharles S. Peirce Society.[4] In December 2020, Misak became the interim director of theMunk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto.[5]

Misak was raised inLethbridge, Alberta.[6] She received her BA from theUniversity of Lethbridge, her MA fromColumbia University, and her DPhil from theUniversity of Oxford.[2]
