Chen Mingshu (simplified Chinese:陈铭枢;traditional Chinese:陳銘樞; 4 December 1889 – 15 May 1965) was a Chinese general and politician. AHakka fromHepu,Guangxi, he graduated fromBaoding Military Academy and participated in theNorthern Expedition. He was brieflypremier afterChiang Kai-shek stepped down in December 1931. In 1932, he took part in theJanuary 28 incident, defending the city against theJapanese Empire.
He was a member ofSocial Democratic Party of China.[citation needed]
He was one of the principal leaders of theFujian Rebellion and theProductive People's Party (General Secretary), the failure of which forced him into exile inHong Kong. In 1948, he joined theRevolutionary Committee of the Kuomintang's central standing committee. After thePeople's Republic of China was founded, he sat on the standing committees of theChinese People's Political Consultative Conference and theNational People's Congress. During theAnti-Rightist Movement, he was determined to be a "rightist".[1][2][3]
