Charlestown is award in the suburban north of thecity ofManchester, England. The population of the ward at the2011 census was 14,332.[1] Voters from this ward elect three councillors toManchester City Council.
TheM60 motorway,Moston railway station, andBoggart Hole Clough form the northern, eastern and southern boundaries of the ward respectively with the western portion leading into the suburb ofBlackley along Rochdale Road. The ward is entirely within theBlackley and Middleton South constituency.
Three councillors serve the ward: Basil Curley (Lab),[2] Hannah Priest (Lab),[3] and Veronica Kirkpatrick (Lab),[4]
