Charles P. de Saint-Aignan (born 16 February 1977,Paris)[2] is an American software engineer who works forIBM on theIBM Watson project. He graduated fromSt. Paul's School (Concord, New Hampshire), in 1995,[3] followed byBrown University (Providence, Rhode Island), in 1999.
In 1994, de Saint-Aignan worked forTed Bowell atLowell Observatory, where he discovered a number ofasteroids. He named his first discovery,8710 Hawley, after Walter N. Hawley, who was his high school physics and astronomy teacher.[4]
The minor planet5995 Saint-Aignan was named in de Saint-Aignan's honor on the occasion of his 20th birthday.[2]
