Chariclo (/kəˈrɪkloʊ/ or/ˈkærɪkloʊ/;Ancient Greek:Χαρικλώ,romanized: Khariklṓ) is either of twonymphs inGreek mythology:

Chariclo, anymph who was married to thecentaur Chiron^[1] and became the mother ofHippe,Endeïs,Ocyrhoe, andCarystus. According to ascholium onPindar, she was the daughter of eitherApollo,Perses orOceanus.^[2] Chariclo together with her mother-in-lawPhilyra theOceanid, were the nurses of the youngAchilles.^[3]
Chariclo, a nymph devotee ofAthena, who became pregnant by a shepherd,Everes, giving birth to the prophetTiresias. Tiresias was struck blind by Athena after seeing her naked. Chariclo begged Athena to give Tiresias his sight back, but the goddess could not undo her curse. She gave him the gift of prophecy instead.^[4]^[5]
