Charalampos Charalampous (Greek:Χαράλαμπος Χαραλάμπους; born 4 April 2002) is a Cypriot professionalfootballer who plays as amidfielder forAris Limassol and theCyprus national team.[2]
Having come throughPAOK's academy, Charalampous signed his first professional contract as a professional footballer in 2018, withCypriot First Division clubOmonia.[3] Just after turning 17, he made his first team debut on 14 April 2019, coming on as asubstitute in a league game againstApollon Limassol.[4]
On 25 May 2022, Charalampous scored the decisive penalty to win the2021–22 Cypriot Cup for Omonia.[5] He scored his first goal for the club on 18 August 2022 againstGent in theEuropa League playoffs.[6]
On 14 November 2022, he renewed his contract with Omonia until 2026. He ended the season by winning the2022–23 Cypriot Cup with Omonia for the second year in a row. He came on as a substitute in the final.
Charalampous made hisnational team debut on 24 September 2022, coming on as a substitute in a 1–0 win againstGreece in theUEFA Nations League.[7] He scored his first goal withCyprus on 20 November 2022 in a friendly match that was won 3-2 againstIsrael.[8]
Charalampous is the nephew of former Omonia player andCypriot international Lefteris Kontolefteros.[9]
