Unincorporated community in Missouri, U.S.

Chapin is anunincorporated community inHowell County, in theU.S. state ofMissouri.[1] The community was located along theSt. Louis–San Francisco Railway on the north bank ofHowell Creek, approximately four miles southeast ofWest Plains.[2]

History

A post office called Chapin was established in 1888, and remained in operation until 1920.[3] The community has the name of Hugh Chapin, a local judge.[4]
