Chandrima Bhattacharya[1] is anTrinamool Congress politician in India and the currentMinister of State forFinance(Independent Charge),Health and Family Welfare,Land and Land Reforms, Refugee and Rehabilitation[2] of theGovernment of West Bengal. Previously, she acted as a minister in the first reshuffle of the ministry in January 2012 afterMamata Banerjee took over as Chief Minister.[3] She was also made the junior Law Minister in October 2012.[4] She was promoted as a cabinet minister and given independent charge ofLaw and Judicial Department,Government of West Bengal in November 2012.[5]

Bhattacharya holds anLL.B (1976) degree from theUniversity of Calcutta.[6] She was also a practising advocate inCalcutta High Court till the 2011 elections.[4]

She had been elected a Member of the Legislative Assembly on anTrinamool Congress ticket fromDum Dum Uttar in2011 and2021 and fromKanthi Dakshin in 2017.[7]
