Nicaraguan baseball executive
In thisSpanish name, the first or paternal surname is Pereira and the second or maternal family name is Ocampo.

Carlos "Chale" Pereira Ocampo was a Nicaraguan baseball executive who was the president of theInternational Baseball Federation (FIBA) from 1948 to 1950.[1] Immediately after his election, he brought the1948 edition of theAmateur World Series to his home country. He also organized the1950 Amateur World Series in Nicaragua, managing to convinceCuba (which had boycotted the tournament since1945) to return. However, Pereira was forced to resign from the FIBA presidency after it emerged that Puerto Rico had illegally includedprofessional baseball players on their roster.[2][3]
