Chahat Mani Pandey is anIndian actress who has portrayed lead roles as Pakhi Parekh inHamari Bahu Silk, Durga Aneja inDurga – Mata Ki Chhaya and Mahua/Krishna inNath.[1] In 2024, Pandey participated inBigg Boss 18, finishing 8th place.[2]
Chahat Pandey was born and raised in Chandi Chopra village,Damoh,Madhya Pradesh. Her mother is Bhavna Pandey. She studied in Chandi Chopra to the 5th standard. Her father died when she was young.[3][4] She completed the 10th standard from Adarsh School in Jabalpur Naka, and the 12th standard at JPB school, both inDamoh district.[5][4] She also did acting training inIndore withBalaji Group.[5][4] She moved toMumbai to pursue her acting career.[3][4]
In June 2020, Pandey and her mother were arrested and jailed on charges of breaking into her uncle's apartment, vandalising it, and assaulting him.[6][2]
Pandey debuted in 2016 in the television soap operaPavitra Bandhan, where she portrayed Mishti Roy Choudhary, the younger daughter of the main character Girish, who returns from having lived in America.[5] She also had episodic roles in the crime dramatisation seriesSavdhaan India. In 2017, Pandey featured in the teaser trailer for the soap operaRadhaKrishn as the lead characterRadha, but was later replaced byMallika Singh.[7]
Pandey played the lead role of Pakhi Parekh in the 2019 TV serialHamari Bahu Silk, where she played the role of a voice artist who dubs for an actress who stars in a number of sensual films but has a hoarse voice in real life.[8] In 2020, she and the other actors on the show complained that they had not received their payment dues, and that she was getting asked by her landlord to leave for not paying rent.[9] There were also rumours that she had attempted to kill herself[10] but she soon refuted, saying her mother's statement was misunderstood.[11] The issue concerning her payment dues was eventually resolved in 2021.[12]
In February 2020, while shooting an episode forMere Sai - Shraddha Aur Saburi, Pandey was briefly injured and hospitalized when she stepped on a piece of glass while barefoot.[13][14]
She portrayed the title character Durga Aneja, who is a god-gifted child born with boons fromGoddess Durga, in the television seriesDurga – Mata Ki Chhaya oppositeAvinash Mishra,[1] which ran onStar Bharat from December 2020 to March 2021. From August 2021 to October 2024, Pandey starred as inDangal TV's showNath,[15] as Mahua oppositeArjit Taneja,Mishra andAnkit Gera in its first seasonNath: Zevar Ya Zanjeer and Mahua's daughter Krishna opposite Arjun Singh Dalal in its second seasonNath: Krishna Aur Gauri Ki Kahani. Since October 2024, she has been a contestant inBigg Boss 18.
She joinedAam Aadmi Party before the2023 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly election.[16] She was the candidate ofAAP for theDamoh Assembly constituency ofMadhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly and lost her deposit.[17]
