Chaharmahali Turkic (چهارمحال تۆرکیسیÇəharməhal Türkîsi/چهارمحالی تۆرکیÇəharməhali Türkî) is a proposedOghuz Turkic variety spoken inIran'sChaharmahal and Bakhtiari province and in westernIsfahan province, where it is described as "Esfahan Province Turkic" by linguists.[4] It is an understudied and generally unclassified variety ofOghuz Turkic distinct fromAzerbaijani andQashqai, being closer to the latter.[5] Chaharmahali Turkic is not to be confused with "Charmahali Persian," (fa) aPersian dialect spoken in the same region.[6]
