Cemal Tollu (19 April 1899 – 26 July 1968) was aTurkishpainter.[1] He served in theTurkish War of Independence as a cavalrylieutenant.[2] and witnessed theFire of Manisa. In 1933 he founded the "D Group" with several other painters[1] who were devoted toCubism andConstructivism.[3] In his later life he was to teach at the Fine Arts Academy ofIstanbul until 1965.[2]
