Celles (French pronunciation:[sɛl]ⓘ;Walloon:Cele-dilé-Dinant) is a village ofWallonia and a district of the municipality ofHouyet, located in theprovince of Namur,Belgium.
It is a member of the heritage groupLes Plus Beaux Villages de Wallonie ("The Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia").
It is served by Gendron-Celles railway station, located several kilometres southwest of the village centre, next to the riverLesse.
TheChâteau de Vêves is near the village.
It was one of the furthest points that theWehrmacht advanced during theBattle of the Bulge (December 1944) inWorld War II, which is commemorated by a preservedPanther tank.[1][2]
