Jalamah, also spelled asDjélémé orJalmé (Arabic:جلمة) is a town in northernSyria situated inAfrin District. It is located on the southern edge of the Afrin plain, 60 kilometres (37 mi) northwest by road fromAleppo and 19 kilometres (12 mi) southwest ofAfrin. Nearby localities includeJindires to the northwest, Askê to the east and Afrin to the northeast. The village is inhabited byTurkmen.[1] On March 11, 2018, the town came under the control of theSyrian National Army.[2]
