Kyle Smith (born July 16, 1980), better known by his stage nameCecil Otter, is arapper andproducer based inMinneapolis, Minnesota. He is a founding member of theindie hip hop collectiveDoomtree.[3]

History

Cecil Otter's False Hopes was released on Doomtree in 2005.[4]

He released his first solo album,Rebel Yellow, on Doomtree in 2008.[5][6] It was re-released onStrange Famous Records in 2009.[7]

In 2011, Cecil Otter released13 Chambers, amashup album blending tracks from hip hop icons theWu-Tang Clan and DYIpost-hardcore bandFugazi[a], with Swiss Andy as Wugazi.[9][10]

In 2012, he stated that he was working on a second solo album,Porcelain Revolver.[11]
