Cebu Strait (Tagalog:Kipot ng Cebú; alsoBohol Strait) is astrait in theCentral Visayas region in thePhilippines.
The Cebu Strait (and its 3 channels, theMactan, theOlango, & theHilutangan) connects the western part of theBohol Sea with theCamotes Sea, and separates the islandprovinces ofCebu andBohol.[1]
The strait is a major sea-lane connectingCebu City on the strait's northern end with port cities in the south such asDumaguete inNegros Oriental andCagayan de Oro inNorthern Mindanao.
Mactan Island, on the northern end of the strait, hasMactan–Cebu International Airport, one of the major airports in the country.
