TheCayson Mound and Village Site (8CA3) is a prehistoricarchaeological site located nearBlountstown,Florida. It is located three miles southeast of Blountstown, on theApalachicola River. The site was occupied by peoples of theFort Walton Culture (a regional variation of theMississippian culture).[2] On March 15, 1976, it was added to theU.S.National Register of Historic Places.
