Thiscategory is for articles about the nativeflora ofNorthern America.
For the purposes of this category, "Northern America" is defined in accordance with theWorld Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions (WGSRPD), namely as one of the nine "botanical continents". It includes the following regions:
TheWGSRPD defines Northern America differently from the usual geographical definition ofNorth America.Central America and theCaribbean are treated as part of the botanical continent of Southern America; seeFlora of Central America andFlora of the Caribbean. The flora ofHawaii is included inFlora of the Pacific.
Native taxa of the lowest rank are included if they occur widely in the botanical continent, otherwise they should be included in the flora of one or more of the constituent regions. Higher taxa are included only ifendemic.
