Castelnaud-la-Chapelle (French pronunciation:[kastɛlnolaʃapɛl];Occitan:Castelnòu e La Capèla) is acommune in theDordognedepartment inNouvelle-Aquitaine in southwesternFrance. It was created in 1973 by the merger of two former communes: Castelnaud-Fayrac and La Chapelle-Péchaud.[3] It is a member ofLes Plus Beaux Villages de France (The Most Beautiful Villages of France).

TheChâteau de Castelnaud-la-Chapelle is located in the commune.

Geography

The riverCéou flows northward through the western part of the commune, then flows into theDordogne, which forms all of the commune's northern border.

The village is located above the confluence of the two rivers.
