The Normals were aChristian alternative rock band formed in 1998 byAndrew Osenga, Mark Lockett, and Clayton Daily. The name of the band honors their hometown ofNormal, Illinois. The band's lineup also included B.J. Aberle, Cason Cooley, Mike Taquino, andSteve Hindalong. The Normals released three albums withForeFront Records and garnered twoGMA Dove Award nominations before disbanding in 2002.[1][2]

Outside of The Normals, Cooley worked as a songwriter and producer, and has worked with artists such asMatthew Perryman Jones,[3]Katie Herzig,[4] andTrent Dabbs.[citation needed] Cooley is also known for his work onBen Rector's albumBrand New,[5] as well asIngrid Michaelson's albumsLights Out andIt Doesn't Have to Make Sense.[6][7]
