Carussa orKaroussa (Ancient Greek:Κάρουσσα), also spelt asCarusa orKarousa (Καροῦσα), also known asPolichnion,[1] was aGreek trading place (emporium) on theBlack Sea coast ofancient Paphlagonia, south ofSinope, and 150stadia from it.[2][3] It is also mentioned in thePeriplus of Pseudo-Scylax as a Greek city; and byPliny the Elder.[4] It was a member of theDelian League as it appears in tribute lists ofancient Athens.[5]
It is located nearGerze inAsiatic Turkey.[1][6]
