Thea Suzan Taylor,[2] known professionally ascarolesdaughter, is an American musician, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.[3] She rose to prominence in 2020 with the release of her single "Violent", which charted at number 10 on theBillboardHot Alternative Songs chart and was certified Platinum by theRecording Industry Association of America (RIAA). She released her debut extended play,Please Put Me in a Medically Induced Coma, in 2022.[4]

Musical style and influences

Taylor's musical style has been described asalternative pop[3][5] andpop-punk.[6] Taylor cited a variety of artists, includingLil Peep,[7]the Carpenters, theRamones,Electric Light Orchestra,[8]Black Flag,[9]the Bee Gees,Tinashe,[6]My Chemical Romance,the Story So Far,the Front Bottoms, andJohnny Hobo[10] as influences.
