Caroline Elizabeth Chisholm, Baroness Chisholm of Owlpen (born 23 December 1951), is a Britishlife peeress and member of theHouse of Lords, where she currently sits as anon-affiliated member. In 2022, she was appointed as one of sixQueen's companions toQueen Camilla.
The only daughter ofJohn Wyndham, 1st Baron Egremont,[1] andPamela Wyndham, Lady Egremont, her elder brother,Max Egremont, succeeded to thefamily titles.
The Hon. Carlyn Wyndham married in 1976, Colin Chisholm, son of Archibald ChisholmCBE.[2] They have two sons and one daughter.[3]
She was made alife peer on 16 September 2014 asBaroness Chisholm of Owlpen, ofOwlpen in theCounty ofGloucestershire.[4] She sat in theHouse of Lords as aConservative Party peer.[5] She has been abaroness-in-waiting (a type ofgovernment whip) from 2015 to 2016, 2017 to 2018, 2019 to 2020, and 2021 to 2022.[5][3][6] She was a Lords spokesperson for theCabinet Office in 2016.[3]
In 2022, she became one of the six ladies appointed as "Queen's companions" toQueen Camilla. At the same time, she resigned the Conservative whip to sit as anon-affiliated member.[7]
With her husband, she was invited to ride in the King's procession at Royal Ascot 2023.[8]
