Carlos Trillo (May 1, 1943 – May 8, 2011)[1] was anArgentinecomic book writer, best known worldwide as the co-creator and writer of theCybersix comics. With a long and prolific career in theHistorieta medium, he is considered as one of Argentina's most respected and renowned comics writers.
Born inBuenos Aires, Trillo began a prolific career as writer at the age of 20, penning his first story forPatoruzú magazine.[2] Trillo, together withHoracio Altuna, created the stripEl Loco Chávez, which appeared every day at the back of the newspaperClarín from July 26, 1975 to November 10, 1987. After that, the strip was replaced byEl Negro Blanco, which he wrote for the artistErnesto García Seijas until September 1993.
He participated in the creation of several comics includingCybersix in 1992, withCarlos Meglia, and the eroticClara de noche andCicca Dum Dum series withJordi Bernet. He has also collaborated withAlberto Breccia andAlejandro Dolina.
In 1999, his workLa grande arnaque (The Big Hoax) won thePrize for Scenario at theAngoulême International Comics Festival.
Trillo died suddenly inLondon on May 8 of 2011, after suffering a heart attack while on holiday with his wife.[1][3]
Trillo was married tochildren's and fiction writerEma Wolf, and they had two children.
