Carlos Vinicio Quiñónez Sánchez, nicknamedEl Buga, (born 20 July 1977) is a Guatemalan former professionalfootballer who played as amidfielder.

Club career

Quiñónez played several years for Guatemalan giantsComunicaciones before returning to his first professional clubDeportivo Marquense. In July 2007 he joined Xelajú[1] and on 21 January 2008, while still atMC Xelajú, he was involved in a heavy car accident nearQuetzaltenango,[2] and was suffering from a lumbar injury,[3] which kept him out for over six months. In January 2009 he signed for Petapa.[4]

International career

Quiñónez made his debut forGuatemala in a January 2000 friendly match againstPanama and has earned a total of 29 caps, scoring 1 goal. He has represented his country in 3FIFA World Cup qualification matches[5] as well as at the2005[6] and2007 UNCAF Cups[7] and the2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup.[8]

His final international was a November 2007 friendly match againstJamaica.
