Born inFlorence, Conti graduated in accountancy, then he was a bank teller from 1981 to 1986.[1] After some experiences in radio as a presenter and a DJ, he debuted as a television presenter in 1985, hosting theRai 1 musical showDiscoring.[2]
In 2014, Conti was named the host and artistic director of theSanremo Music Festival 2015. He continued in these roles for the2016 and2017 editions of the festival. He reprised them for2025 and 2026.[3]
