Carl Finley Christ (September 19, 1923 –April 21, 2017) was an Americaneconomist and a ProfessorEmeritus of Economics atJohns Hopkins University. He is known for his contributions ineconometrics, including an early popular textbook.[2]
A native ofChicago, Christ graduated with a BS in physics from theUniversity of Chicago in 1943. He worked as junior physicist for theManhattan Project from 1943 to 1945, and then as an instructor in physics atPrinceton University, 1945–46, before starting graduate studies in economics at theUniversity of Chicago.[3]
In 1970 he was elected as aFellow of the American Statistical Association.[4]
