Careiae (Italian:Galera) was an ancient town ofEtruria, on theVia Clodia, the first station beyondVeii.[1] The town is mentioned byFrontinus and appears in theTabula Peutingeriana.[2] Its site is at the abandoned village of Galera, approximately 25 km fromRome.[3]
