Cape Blanche Conservation Park is aprotected area located on the west coast ofEyre Peninsula inSouth Australia about 25 kilometres (16 miles) south ofStreaky Bay. It was proclaimed under theNational Parks and Wildlife Act 1972 in 2012 for the purpose of protecting ‘important breeding habitat for theeastern osprey (Pandion cristatus) andwhite-bellied sea-eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster)’ and ‘diverse range of flora’ including ‘theWest Coast mintbush (Prostanthera calycina),’ and to provide ‘provide important habitat for threatened shorebirds and migratory birds, including thehooded plover (Thinornis rubricollis),sooty oystercatcher(Haematopus fuliginosus) andsanderling (Calidris alba).’ The conservation park is classified as anIUCN Category III protected area.[1][3]
