Candice Farmer (born c. 1970)[1] is an underwaterfashion and beauty photographer,[2] based inUckfield,England.[3] She is known professionally by themononym,Candice.
Farmer gained a National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in photography atPlymouth College of Art and Design.[when?] The course included a module on underwater photography which she has since specialised in. She also studied business studies.[where?]
Farmer had her first exhibition in 2001.[where?]
She was the recipient of aShell LiveWIRE award, an enterprise scheme to help support young entrepreneurs into business.[when?]
Farmer has worked commercially forBritish Airways[4][5] and providedfashion stills for aPBS documentary on "How Art Made the World".[6] She also worked for the department storeHarrods, the skin cream brandNivea, the supermarket chainSainsbury's, the British retailerW H Smith, the British retailerFHM, and the fashion magazinesCosmopolitan,GQ,Harper’s & Queen,Vogue,Elle andMarie Claire.[citation needed]
In 2004 Farmer founded the clean drinking water initiative Fresh2o,[1] intended to raise awareness and funding for fresh water projects. As part of her campaign she has created a series of celebrity photographs to highlight the cause,[7] including as modelsKeira Knightley,[8] Kelly Brook,[9] SirNick Faldo, Nicko McBrain andTamzin Outhwaite. Supporters also include Janet Jackson,Jay Kay,Will Smith, Ellen Whitaker,Bear Grylls, andZac Efron.[2]
Candice is a professional diver and accomplished show-jumper, having competed in Switzerland for many years and now in the UK.[2]
