Candara orKandara (Ancient Greek:Κάνδαρα) was a town ofancient Paphlagonia, inhabited fromAchaemenid throughRoman times.[1]Stephanus of Byzantium writes that it was "in Paphlagonia, threeschoeni fromGangra, and a villageThariba" and that a temple ofHera Candarene was there.[2]
Its site is tentatively located nearCandere,Asiatic Turkey.[1][3]
