UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Teixeira was a plannedmixed martial arts event produced by theUltimate Fighting Championship originally planned to take place on April 25, 2020 atPinnacle Bank Arena inLincoln, Nebraska, United States.[1] Due to theCOVID-19 pandemic, UFC presidentDana White announced on April 9 that starting withUFC 249, all future events were indefinitely postponed.[2] The event was officially cancelled on April 20.[3]

A light heavyweight bout between formerUFC Light Heavyweight Championship challengersAnthony Smith andGlover Teixeira was expected to serve as the event headliner.[1]

A lightweight bout betweenChristos Giagos andAlan Patrick was scheduled for the event. However, Giagos pulled out of the fight on March 19 citing injury and was replaced byFrank Camacho.[4]

A light heavyweight bout between former interim title challengerOvince Saint Preux andShamil Gamzatov was scheduled for the event. However, Gamzatov was forced to pull out of the event due totravel restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.[5] He was replaced byIon Cuțelaba.[6]

A heavyweight bout betweenRodrigo Nascimento andDon’Tale Mayes was expected to take place atUFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Harris. However, the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[7] The pairing was rescheduled for this event.[8]

Also due to travel restrictions, some Brazilian fighters were unable to compete due tovisa issues on the original date –Ariane Carnelossi (who was expected to faceMackenzie Dern in a women's strawweight bout) andRaphael Pessoa (who was expected to faceAlexander Romanov in a heavyweight bout).[9] Carnelossi was replaced byHannah Cifers.[10]
