The names of the cookies come from the treePithecellobium dulce, known ascamachile (also spelledkamatsile orkamatsili) inTagalog. Quinamunsil or kinamunsil, theHiligaynon name for the cookies are also named after the tree, which is known askamunsil inVisayan languages.[1]
