California's 5th congressional district is aU.S. congressional district inCalifornia.

The district is located in the northernSan Joaquin Valley and centralSierra Nevada. The district includesGold Country and small parts of theCentral Valley, including all ofAmador,Calaveras,Tuolumne andMariposa counties, westernEl Dorado County, and easternStanislaus,Madera andFresno counties. Cities and communities in the district include most ofModesto, northernTurlock, northernFresno,Oakdale,Hughson,Riverbank,Sonora,Jackson,Placerville,Mariposa, andEl Dorado Hills. It also includesYosemite National Park and part ofKings Canyon National Park. It is represented byRepublicanTom McClintock.[1]

From 2013 to 2023, the district was located in the northern part of theSan Francisco Bay Area, includingSanta Rosa,Vallejo, and most of theWine Country. The district was represented byMike Thompson, aDemocrat.
