Caldimicrobium rimae is an extremelythermophilic, strictlyanaerobic and facultativelychemolithoautotrophic bacterium from the genus ofCaldimicrobium which has been isolated from theTreshchinnyi Spring fromUzon Caldera inRussia.[1][3][4][5][6]
Caldimicrobium rimae varies from its family ofThermodesulfobacteriaceae as it is not capable of oxidizing organic acids or alcohols and use sulfur as an electron receptor.[citation needed]
