Caffeine-Free Pepsi is a version of thecolaPepsi that omits thecaffeine that is customarily part of a cola. It was introduced under the brand namePepsi Free in 1982 byPepsiCo.[1] It was 99.7 percent caffeine free.[2] Asugar-free variant was also introduced and known asDiet Pepsi Free[3] ThePepsi Free name itself was phased out in 1987, and today these colas are known simply asCaffeine-Free Pepsi andCaffeine-Free Diet Pepsi.
