Caesium hexafluorocobaltate(IV) is asalt with the chemical formulaCs2CoF6. It can be synthesized by the reaction ofCs
3[(CoCl
4)Cl] andfluorine.[1] The salt contains rare example ofcobalt(IV)complex, i.e. [CoF6]2-.
It has cubicK2PtCl6 structure, with thelattice constant a = 8.91 Å, and the length of Co-F bond is 1.73 Å.[1] The complex isferromagnetic and the ground state of Co(IV) is T2g3Eg2.[2]
