C/2007 E2 (Lovejoy) is a non-periodiccomet discovered byTerry Lovejoy on 15 March 2007. Itsperihelion was 27 March 2007, while its closest approach to Earth was 25 April 2007 inHercules at a distance of 0.44AU. Maximumapparent magnitude was approximately +8.[3]
The discovery was made using aCanon EOS 350D consumer gradedigital camera, and not aCCD survey camera.[4]
