Edward Lorenzo "Buster" Jones (December 12, 1943 – September 16, 2014) was an American voice actor andtelevision host. He is known for his roles asBlack Vulcan inSuper Friends, Blaster inThe Transformers, Doc inG.I. Joe: A Real American Hero andWinston Zeddemore inThe Real Ghostbusters (replacingArsenio Hall) and laterExtreme Ghostbusters.

Jones was born inParis, Tennessee and attendedLane College inJackson, Tennessee, where he played in a band and got a job as adisc jockey. During his career as a DJ, he worked inWashington, D.C., andLos Angeles. He also did voice work in commercials, which led to his career as a voice actor in TV series.[1]

Jones appeared as the host ofSoul Unlimited,Dick Clark's short-lived all-black version ofAmerican Bandstand that was created as a competitor toSoul Train.[2]

He also provided voices forDefenders of the Earth (as Lothar),The Super Globetrotters (as Spaghetti Man),Captain Planet and the Planeteers, andThe New Batman Adventures.

Jones died at home in North Hollywood, California, on September 16, 2014, at age 70.[3]
