Burt Township is acivil township ofAlger County in the U.S. state ofMichigan. As of the2020 census, its population was 411.[3]
The township contains the community ofGrand Marais, which contains numerous historic structures, including thePickle Barrel House and theGrand Marais Harbor of Refuge Inner and Outer Lights. The township is also the eastern gateway to thePictured Rocks National Lakeshore and includes theAu Sable Light on the shores ofLake Superior.
According to theUnited States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 258.03 square miles (668.29 km2), of which 230.48 square miles (596.94 km2) is land and 27.55 square miles (71.35 km2) (10.68%) is water.[4]
