Bursa Province (Turkish:Bursa ili) is aprovince andmetropolitan municipality inTurkey along theSea of Marmara coast in northwesternAnatolia. It bordersBalıkesir to the west,Kütahya to the south,Bilecik andSakarya to the east,Kocaeli to the northeast andYalova to the north. Its area is 10,813 km2,[2] and its population is 3,194,720 (2022).[1] Itstraffic code is 16.

Almost all of Bursa Province (including the city ofBursa) is in theMarmara region, but the districts ofBüyükorhan,Harmancık,Keles andOrhaneli are in theAegean Region.

The city ofBursa was the capital of theOttoman State between 1326 and 1365, until the Ottoman conquest ofEdirne, then known as Adrianople. Adrianople was the capital until1453, whenConstantinople became the final Ottoman capital.

Bursa mostly experiences aMediterranean climate (Csa andCsb). Inner parts of the province are higher in elevation and show continental characteristics (Dsb andDsc).Uludağ is the highest mountain in the province with 2,543 meters of elevation.
