Burnt Peak is the highestpeak of theSierra Pelona, located in northwesternLos Angeles County,Southern California. The peak is home to aVOR air navigation beacon.[4]
The mountain, 5,791 feet (1,765 m) in elevation, is protected within theAngeles National Forest. It is north ofSanta Clarita, west ofLake Hughes, and east of theRidge Route. Just a few miles north lies the unincorporated town ofThree Points.
The Sierra Pelona Mountains are part of theTransverse Ranges System.
