Frances Hodgson Burnett Memorial Fountain,[1] located nearFifth Avenue and theMuseum of the City of New York inManhattan'sCentral Park, is an outdoor bronze sculpture and fountain which serves as a memorial toBurnett, the author of several literary classics includingThe Secret Garden andLittle Lord Fauntleroy.[2]
Created by sculptorBessie Potter Vonnoh in 1936 and dedicated on May 28, 1937, by MayorFiorello LaGuardia,[2] it depicts Mary and Dickon fromThe Secret Garden.[2]
